BOLD ART & DESIGN
Abstract mixed media artist with colourful vibrant large paintings, unique monotype screen prints, and multi-layered, textured works on hardwood panel.
Artist & Designer
Inspiration & Process. Kira draws inspiration from the contrasts between bustling urban cultures and the serene landscapes of London and Southern Europe. Her work reflects the dynamic interplay of nature, light, and space, resulting in art that is loose, spontaneous, and liberating. Working on large canvases for impact, hardwood panels for texture, and monotype screen prints for vibrant color, Kira's pieces are explorations of form and energy. Her design philosophy extends to her work in interior spaces, where she emphasizes light, simplicity, and creating environments that evoke a sense of retreat and joy. With a recent MA from the Royal Academy of Arts, Kira seamlessly combines her international business background with her passion for art, bringing a unique and meaningful perspective to both her creative and design practices.

Artist Bio
Originally from Germany, Kira Behnert embarked on her creative journey after moving to London in 2000. Initially focusing on property refurbishment, her passion for art soon became a central focus. In 2019, she completed an Art Diploma at the Putney School of Art & Design, marking the beginning of her professional art career. Since then, Kira has exhibited and sold her work across the United States and Europe. She is currently completing her MA at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Kira specializes in abstract mixed media artworks, working on a variety of surfaces including canvas, hardwood panels, and monotype screen prints on paper. Her vibrant, contrast-rich pieces are deeply inspired by her diverse life experiences—from her childhood in Germany to travels across culturally rich and naturally beautiful countries, and her life in cosmopolitan London. Drawing on the American ideology that "anything is possible," which she absorbed during her student years in the U.S., Kira's art radiates an energetic and positive outlook on life. Her works are characterized by their spontaneity and abstract nature, deliberately left open to interpretation, inviting viewers into a moment of joyful discovery. Kira's practice is a testament to her inquisitive nature, blending a wide array of materials, including paints, ripped magazine images, found objects, and newsprint. Her monotype screen prints often emerge as abstract expressions of whimsical thoughts or imaginative escapes, with acrylic paints worked directly into the screen to create compelling narratives. Kira has exhibited at numerous art fairs in London and internationally, with upcoming shows at the Affordable Art Fair in Brussels and London. In addition to her fine art practice, she also undertakes design and art commissions for residential and commercial spaces, bringing her expertise in property development, interior design, and art to create bespoke pieces for large surfaces.
